I am a Big Country native. I grew up in Knox City, Texas, where I attended grade school and graduated from high school. From there, I attended McMurry University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I returned to McMurry in pursuit of my Bachelor of Science in Nursing where I graduated in 1997. I graduated with my Masters of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2003.
I worked as a Registered Nurse at Hendrick Medical Center in various roles ranging from a nurse on a medical-surgical unit to a charge nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. During my time receiving my education for Nurse Practitioner, I worked at University Medical Center, in Lubbock, Texas, as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. After obtaining my certification as a Nurse Practitioner, I opened an Urgent Care and Family Practice Center in Brownwood, Texas. In 2004, I returned to Abilene, Texas, working at the Texas Tech Family Health Clinic. I joined Colonel Dr. Louie Fehl’s practice from 2007-2011. In 2011, I joined wife Dr. Maria Toro at her practice where I worked until 2017. In 2019, I joined Big Country Internal Medicine.
